On the sunny side of the Vaud Alps

The ascent  is well worth the effort to admire the view over the Lake of Geneva and the Alps.

The first hour of ascent leads us to a 400-year-old landslide. Having passed the traces of the still visible avalanches of stone, we soon reach the Col de Tompey with its splendid view over the Lake of Geneva. We follow the steep narrow path up to the Croix de Tompey to admire the view again in all four cardinal directions. We might even see some chamois. We then go down to Lac d’Aï and  after a last, short ascent we reach la Berneuse where the cable car brings us happily down to Leysin.
