Conquering three passes between Vaud and Berne

The Col de Jable is not only the border between the cantons of Berne and Vaud, but also the language border.

From the Videmanette, which we reach by cable car, we shortly descend after the first pass the Col de la Videman to the Gour de Combrosin surrounded by the wild peaks of Pointes Sur-Combe and Tsô y Bots (pasture full of toads in the local dialect). On a small trail we climb up to the second pass, the Trittsattel and further on to the third pass, the Col de Jable. There the landscape opens up and offers an impressive panoramic view. A comfortable path leads us down to L’Etivaz.
