A carpet of daffodils in the Jura

The Chasseral region and its unexpected yellow meadows covered with daffodils.

Although not far away from bigger cities, the area gives the impression of remoteness. During the winter the Chasseral region is well-known for cross-country skiing. Once the snow has melted, with the first grass sprouting, the daffodils appear for a short period and transform the green meadows into a yellow carpet.

A short bus ride from Biel/Bienne brings us to the heights of the Jura. After an easy ascent we reach the ridge where we overlook the valleys and Lake Biel/Bienne. On our way down to Orvin we may stop for coffee at one of the traditional métairies (farm with a restaurant) and enjoy the typical products of the region.
